Greek organic fruit & vegetable producers sell their produce in markets called laikis (pronounced likees). These organic markets are a very welcome aspect of Greek life and culture and have been in use for many years. This is about to change as the Greek ‘government’ is going after organic farmers under the guise of new ‘taxes and regulations’ to eventually shut them down.

With the loss of laikis, ordinary people will be forced to consume pesticide-laden fruit & vegetables. Supermarkets will benefit massively because they will now be the dominant ‘sellers’ of these foods. The illegal government of Papademos will also benefit in the implementation of new rules, regulations and taxes on these growers. The Puppet Masters behind Papademos will be very happy that organic foods grown by organic farmers will disappear because the end point of these machinations is complete control of the food chain, from farm to fork.

Once organic food production disappears in Greece, the next stage will be to force small conventional farmers out of businesses as well (through stringent taxes ‘health’ checks, more regulation etc): their farms will then be bought up by the usual predatory multinationals. With the coming of multinationals of course, GM (genetically modified) crops and a huge swathe of pesticides will quickly be introduced. There is nothing quite more successful in altering the natural succession of fauna and flora and depressing our immune system than a good plate or two of genetically modified foods, followed by an unsavoury cocktail of pesticides.

Organic food producers in the USA are also under attack by their government and the same pattern of tyranny in both countries are underway.
